The license Model

 

The license for Data Protectors family is based on per host model.

The license can only be upgraded from one phase to next phase, until it retires.

 

Here are a list of the different phases, and a description of what they are supposed to do.

 

  1. TEMPorary license

Is used for try and buy, this license phase will expire 30 days after its first use.

  1. PERManent license

This license never expires.

Support is included in the product, but will expire one year after order date, see below.

The license is based on hostname of the client being protected.

  1. EXPIRE license

Is used for transition of PERManent license, the license will expire 30 days after it entered this license phase.

You must enter this phase before you can move your license to a new host, the output in the backup log will give you the “transition key” for the ordering form.
